The Firefly detectors are
usually installed directly on the wall of the process and in doing so the detector's
protective glass is exposed to the transported material. The top section of the protective
glass is aerodynamically designed (halfspherical) and does not normally need cleaning.
In harsh process environments where materials with high
adhesive qualities are transported or when condensation is formed on the detector glass,
steps are required to keep the detector glass clean. Low transport speeds - less than 10
m/ sec - also contribute towards materials bonding to the detector glass.
Firefly has equipment to keep the detector glass clean for
assured indicating.
Firefly Welding ring XV forms an air
cushion around the detector glass that effectively prevents particles from
sticking to the glass. The ring is fitted in an installation where the material flow is
dry and has a sufficient underpressure. A simple and elegant solution.
Firefly Automatic Air Cleaning
using compressed air is fitted in, e.g. a drop shaft with dry material flow.
Firefly Fan Cleaning for forced
cleaning is fitted in the most aggressive process environments. |
